hi there.

perhaps you already know: we’re a recording studio, run by 2 “outsider artists”*

(*we didn’t go to music or engineering school)

our names are Sarah La Puerta & Jared Samuel Elioseff and we’re located in Cambridge, NY- about 30 mi. from our friends at Mass MoCA and 30 min. from the Bennington, VT border. we are pleased to offer an all-analog option, as well as working within a DAW, or a hybrid approach.

to inquire re: booking & rates please email here.

whether it be an album, the recording studio itself, or even a home-cooked meal it is always our goal that the whole be greater than the sum of its parts, and yet we also try to keep in mind the classic Eno prompt “Not building a wall but making a brick.” we try to provide the best raw materials at every step.

our facilities are housed inside a 200 year old barn with about 2 and a half very stunning acres, looking out over a 14-acre pond. we are also human companions to one baby daughter and 2 mutts.

some core beliefs:

  • no ceiling lighting- floor lamps only.

  • clash patterns with confidence and everything will match. dissonant chords are just polyrhythms at warp speed. play “right” light and “wrong” strong!

  • “To say yes to one instant is to say yes to all of existence.” -Otto Jurgen Hofmann, pipe organ builder, beloved eccentric, conscientious objector.

  • making music is for all, across the vast and infinite spectra, regardless of manmade notions of genre, gender, race, or age.

  • as new parents ourselves we invite other new parents (& their little ones) to come make recordings, and are proud to offer on-premises childcare.

(for more dtls. please inquire within your email!)

  • a studio is only as good as its painstakingly mosaic’d bathroom tile floor, and ours is the best.
